Rory and his team are responsible for Expedia’s global programmatic media investments. With regional specialists located in London, Seattle and Singapore, he has driven the online travel agency’s shift from hybrid agency model to a fully scaled in-house operation. A three-year journey to date, the team have focused on establishing incrementality measurement methodologies, allowing them to confidently scale investment. Today, the program solidifies the brand’s position at the forefront of innovation as media and travel industries continue to evolve.
In 2015, Rory began work with Expedia as an independent consultant, authoring a programmatic RFP and requirements for the hybrid client/agency team. It was a brief that offered such rare opportunity, it ultimately concluded five successful years of consulting. This followed a decade in agencies, where his experience spanned the advent of SEO and SEM through to the early evolution of programmatic buying.
Regularly commuting 530 miles to London via car, plane, train and bicycle, Rory believes it’s a small price to pay for living in the Scottish wilderness.
